Christopher Haase Leads the German GT Championship
ADAC Masters Weekend
ADAC GT Masters
Hockenheimring (DEU)
September 30th – October 2nd, 2011

The final race of the exciting ADAC GT Masters season will take place at the Hockenheimring in Baden next weekend. Christopher Haase (24) from Kulmbach, Franconia has been sharing a Phoenix Racing AUDI R8 LMS with Swede Andreas Simonsen since the first race in Oschersleben.

The traditional racing track Hockenheimring also hosts Formula 1 races and is 2.84 miles (4,574 meters) long. It is run in a clockwise direction and has 17 turns.

Having reached a place on the podium with P2 in the 4 hours race at the Nürburgring (43rd ADAC Barbarossapreis race) with Frank Stippler in an AUDI R8 LMS last weekend, Christopher Haase has taken the lead in the German GT Championship. The pilots have to compete in the 24h race at the Nürburgring, five ADAC GT Masters races and two Endurance Championship races at the Nürburgring (VLN) to be considered in the championship. The last race in this championship will take place at the Hockenheimring in a few days time.

Christopher Haase:
“I have not driven a race in an Audi at the Hockenheimring before and I think that the track is not ideal for the R8. However, we will do everything to score points in the German GT Championship. The top group is very close in points and I just hope that we will still be on top at the end of the weekend.
I reached a place on the podium with my partner Frank Stippler in the VLN 4 hours race at the Nürburgring last weekend which I am very happy about. The car was great and the team did a fantastic job and we were rewarded with the second place.”

German TV station Kabel 1 will broadcast the ADAC GT Masters races on Saturday and Sunday live from 11:45 a.m. in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. TV station Sport 1 will show highlights of the weekend on October 8th, 2011 from 1:30 p.m.
