Christopher Haase: No chequered flag for Haase/Jäger in the Black Falcon Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3

35th DMV Münsterlandpokal
VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft (long-distance championship) Nürburgring
October 30th, 2010

The final race of the legendary VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft (long-distance championship) at the Nürburgring was finished for GT pilot Christopher Haase (23) and his partner Thomas Jäger (34) after one hour and fifteen minutes of the four-hour stint.

The qualifying on Saturday morning looked promising. Haase/Jäger already demonstrated two weeks ago that they do not need the pole position to win a race.
This weekend Jäger managed to place the Black Falcon Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3 in P10 and therefore in the fifth row.
Thomas Jäger started the 10th and last race of this season. There were some dark clouds but it remained dry. Jäger managed the first turn without problems and held his ground. Shortly before the first pit stop with driver change a technical fault became noticeable. Haase took over and came back into the pit after a lap at the sprint circuit. During the stop the team found a problem in the drive system and decided to abort the race early.

Christopher Haase will compete in the FIA GT1 World Championship in Brazil at the end of November and afterwards in the final race of the 2010 season in Argentina.
